Afmu is a disgrace
Okay, my fault for letting the domain expire. Afmu should send a second reminder, however, closer to expiration date, not just one 60 days ahead of time. Still well within the 30 day renewal grace period, I tried to log on to update my account, but none of my passwords were working. I opened a support ticket to get help...four days and no response. I left a voice message at their number. It's ridiculous that this company does not offer phone support...absolutely ludicrous. They have always been insultingly slow to respond, even by email, dragging out any correspondence.
Guess I'll be doing some shopping for a new provider.

Cannot get in touch with AFMU at all
We dont do any hosting thru AFMU but we purchased our URL through them. I need access to these guys in order to renew my SSL cert but have been pulling my hair out trying to get in touch with them. At least I see its not only me. This is really bad. I feel sorry for all of us.

Can't pay to renew domain
I've been with AFMU since 2007 with very few problems other than the fact you can't speak to anyone by phone. I tried to log in to renew my domain name at the end of December as it was due to expire on Janurary 2nd. I got a message saying they had no client with my email. I've sent many emails and the only response is an auto response saying I will be emailed later to resolve the issue. In the mean time my domain has expired, my website is off line and my business is losing money. I switched to another web host after a few days of shear frustration but my domain had already expired. They say there is nothing they can do until I have an active domain except offer a new domain for my current website. I don't know what to do, it's been a very frustrating couple weeks. How do I get my domain from them????

Something seriously wrong with AFMU
Is Michael Carr dead? I have been using AFMU for many years and they have always been responsive. Over the past week one of my sites was due for renewal. Whan I logged on to pay the invoice, there was no invoice available and no way to renew. Whilst I have several sites with them only one show up under my account details. I have submitted many support requests and have emailed - but not one single reply. My site is offline and there is nothing I can do to remedy the situation....

8 websites down
well at least I know I am in the same boat with many others. I have left dozens of voicemails, emails and sent numerous support tickets. I am so pissed, I have spent days checking online trying to fix my pages. two were fixed, now absolutely no response in the past two weeks. Michael Carr of AFMU is on Linked In if anyone wants to try to get him to man up, put on the big boy pants and at least RESPOND...I have 8 websites that now are in jeopardy. I can't wait to see what happens when I try to transfer the fre My poor customers have been calling and complaining. two of them are brand new businesses and are having issues. OMG. this is my worst nightmare. I am a small business person and am going to lose these accounts. and AFMU doesn't even have the courtesy to respond!!!!!!!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
More than 3 weeks without a response when I advised them my website had been hacked! And this week it was hacked again! PLUS! my contact info in the supposedly secure Client Area was changed without my input or consent. PLUS! I have 3 domains registered with them, and yet since November I can only see ONE. PLUS! I am NOT able to control, change, modify or edit anything in either the Client Area or in the one domain I still have access to!!!! AND! None of the many support tickets I've submitted have been responded to. These guys were good when I first signed up with them, but now all I can say is DON'T PICK AFMU!

BAD! BAD! AND MORE BAD!
This is the WORST hosting company and I recommend running away as fast as you can! Over a week with no website or e-mail and NO communication at all. In December which is my most busy time for business. Sent over 8 tickets and no response. No posting on their website, no return e-mail, no number to call. The owner, Michael Carr, could care less. I tried to write him on Facebook and no response. He has gome back to school and doesn't give a damn about his clients at AFMU.
I have left AFMU and moved on to a great hosting site- AFMU has the very worst customer service that I have ever seen. TERRIBLE!!!!!

I just renewed my site. Now it's been down for weeks. Can't contact support. No notification from AFMU as to what is happening. Losing business, and need to speak with someone weeks ago. Just filed a complaint with BBB.

Non-existence Customer Service
My site has been down for about a week now and all problem tickets I have submitted have been ignored. I thought I was the only one with this problem, but after reading the review page, I see I am not alone. Perhaps they did go out of business. A mass email to this end would have been nice if this is the case. Either way, I am looking for another host.

Service went down hill recently
I've used AFMU for about 3 years and they were great. Excellent uptime and great customer service.
Unfortunately that all changed.
I tried to upgrade my account to get more bandwidth, and I got no response at all. Nothing. This was two months ago.
Now my website is completely down and guess what? No response at all from their customer service when I contact them. According to one of their server stats page, 6 of their 13 servers are down completely:
http://secure.afmu.com/clientarea/serverstatus.php
I've read posts online from other customers with similar experiences recently. Some are questioning whether or not the company still in business.

good- until last month
I have to agree with the two last post. I have been hosting with AFMU for four years now and never had any trouble, until two weeks ago when they apparently 'forgot' to renew my website although their own site clearly shows that I paid for another year. The only way to contact them - I found - was through their on-site 'support ticket' poster so I submitted one ticket, then another... five in total without ever getting a response.
All this, I read from your mails, really started within the last two month or so, so now I keep wondering whether AFMU is still in business or whether it has gone under last month or so. This would explain a lot.
yours,
Phoebe

Non-existent customer service
This is my second review of AFMU within 8 weeks. I first sent a ticket on the 2nd September 2011
and since then have issued several others regarding bandwidth. I have tried to upgrade to a better bandwidth package and they have ignored every single communication/ticket. My website has now been offline for half a month. I have since purchased bandwidth from another company and AFMU still ignore urgent tickets requesting information to propogate to another company. Three years ago I would have given a positive recommendation - now I would say AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Watch out!
I have been hosting with them for 2 years. After the first year they charged me $49 to keep the account with them. I went to GoDaddy instead but when I tried to transfer my domain, they held it and threatened to send me to collections if I did not pay it. These guys are complete extortionists. Needless to say, I will never do business with them again.

Complete jerks...
Worst experience ever, EVER. When one year contract expired they sold the account. No problem. At the end of second year they try to charge me again, I complain, they deny they sold it, they claim they automatically extend service to avoid interuption of service and don't "sell" domains to third parties. After much back and forth they acknowledge that that is indeed what happened. Now, the third year they are again trying to charge me and deny any of my previous claims. Jerks and liars. Use someone else...please put these low lifes out of business. Thanks
