Awardspace is great! 
I am using the free edition for markasoftware.getenjoyment.net and it is great! I don't have much images or video, so the 250mb limit is fine. I have searched through several other free providers, but this one is the only one that met up to my needs. It is really great, and I am considering moving to the basic plan sooner or later.

Must Use Registered Domain
From what I can see, this host looks like a very good one. It was easy to create an account, their automated signup/confirmation email came fast, and they seem to have all the basic tools anyone with moderate intelligence can learn to use to set up a free website. However, I must clarify that I closed the account before even using it. Why? Because I could not upload my website files without already having a registered domain set up. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem, especially considering how inexpensive domains are. But, for reasons I won't get into, I don't want to have a registered domain for this particular site. I thought AwardSpace would, by default, have a domain for my site, such as http://mysite.awardspace.com or www.awardspace.com/mysite. But this isn't the case. In any event, if you want to set up a website, and you don't want to pay for an official domain, then look elsewhere. Otherwise, awardspace would probably be a good host.

Limit on outgoing Emails
I like AwardSpace.com generally, but there are a couple of things that bug me. 1) You are entitled only to 30 outgoing E-mails each month. I use them up in a few days and then I can't send any more E-mails till the first of the next month. 2) Loading of my site is very slow sometimes. And I have a very small site with small images. 3) Owners aren't flexible. They point out a lot that you have a free account and therefore are not eligible for other options. I felt like I am asking for a handout.

cool guys
I signed up a few months ago and it all went as a breeze. I uploaded my site, pointed the name servers and the domain propagated with in 1 hour. In general their support is excellent I had only a few times when I needed to contact them and they fixed the problem with in minutes. Great service. Everybody on a tight budget should use it.

No free domain hosting
Excellent service.
The only glitches is they don't host some free domains (Co.cc, Uni.cc, Cz.cc, etc.) and the small space offered; they could easily give at least 500MB or 1GB, they would have billions more of clients.

Used to be good... 
Free service was pretty rocky the first year, then things were more stable, however the past three months my website has been down more than it's been available...so I'm moving to another site! They do not deserve the rating this site gives them for free web hosting, it's more like a zero!

Whether you need free or paid hosting awardspace.com is the host for you and I am telling you this not as a cliche, but a from a personal experience. I had a free plan for 2 years with awardspace and then I decided to sign up for a promotion that was going on and I am even happier ever since. The support team is fast to reply 1-2 hours most of the time. My site has not been down a single minute for at least 1 year. My over all conclusion is great.

They are good
Hi everybody I just wanted to tell you how happy I am with awardspace.com. Yesterday when I open a ticket asking to change my php my account was moved to another server with a different PHP configuration. This of course changed my database details and I thought that my site would go down, but no awardspace.com manually edited this as well and I had the new PHP version for my new site and at the same time this did not cause any down time to my old site.

This is totally the new hit in the web hosting industry. I have been using their free hosting plan for more than an year and know I bought a Virtual Private server and it's just so fast. On top of that it's the cheapest vps I know.

Fine and simple
Wow, this is an amazing host. I used awardspace.com for a host, and a free domain from another site. Their website wizard on both WP and Joomla webpage editor is incredible. The web site templates too make it amazing. There are some things that you cannot customize, but you still don't need to pay anything. It works fine for simple websites. Thank you.

This is a wonderful host. They answered my stupid html question in MINUTES. You can even password-protect sections of your free website! That is amazing for a free host service. I would not even think about looking for any other host. The totally FREE web hosting gives great space, great bandwidth, and they have no ads
